Reimagining God Bundle
Maybe your image of God stopped working. Maybe it was never working. Either way, this bundle is for people who are ready to ask the biggest questions again without settling for easy answers.
You'll start by examining the frameworks we use to think about God at all: where they come from, which ones are actually rooted in Scripture, and which ones got imported from Greek philosophy or American culture without anyone really noticing. Then you'll sit with the most direct version of the question: what is God actually like? You'll wrestle with divine omniscience, what it really means for God to know everything including the future, and what that does to prayer, free will, and the problem of evil. And you'll close with one of the more unsettling questions in modern theology: in what sense did God die, and what does that mean for how we understand the cross and the nature of the divine?
An introduction to open and relational theology.
