You were probably taught one way to read the Bible. There are others, and some of them have been around a lot longer than the one you inherited.
You'll start with the history of biblical interpretation, because once you see how many different ways people have read Scripture across the centuries, the version you grew up with starts to look a lot less inevitable. From there you'll spend time with the idea that the Bible speaks in multiple voices, often in tension with each other, and why that's a feature rather than a problem. You'll take on some of the most persistent myths about Scripture, where they came from and why they stuck. And you'll finish with a practical framework for reading the Bible as a thoughtful adult, the kind of approach that lets you bring your whole self to the text instead of leaving half of you at the door.
