The Bible for Normal People

GEN Z COHORT

A one-year fellowship program for Gen Z to shape the future of faith conversations at The Bible for Normal People and beyond.

The Bible for Normal People Gen Z Cohort is a professional opportunity tailored to young, spiritually-curious leaders. The program will provide selected participants with privileged network connections to the globally-renowned theologians, scholars, and thought-leaders featured on the Bible for Normal People podcast, the Bible for Normal People production staff, and fellow Bible for Normal People cohort members. Selected cohort members will receive:

Access to thought leaders in religion/spirituality. Previous B4NP guests include Brian McLaren, Bishop Michael Curry, and Rainn Wilson of The Office, among others.

Free membership for one year to our online community Society of Normal People.

Access to entire the class and course catalog from The Bible for Normal People. Past class topics include: Womanist Biblical Interpretation with Dr. Angela Parker, Universal Salvation with Bradley Jersak, The Bible is Not A Sex Book with Anna Sieges-Beal, Putting the Pieces Together After Deconstruction with Pete Enns and Jared Byas, The Error of Inerrancy with Pete Enns, and more.

Chance to publish writing on the Bible for Normal People blog or social media channels.

Certification of program completion for résumés (requires participation in at least 70% of cohort meetings)

Cohort members will:

Join a professional network with globally-renowned thought leaders and young, spiritually-curious working professionals.

Connect with other young leaders who have a professional or personal interest in the future of faith or in what we call “adaptive Christianity.”

Learn about statistical trends in Gen Z religion/spirituality and discuss how they’ve experienced those phenomena in themselves and witnessed it in their peers.

Engage in intellectually-stimulating conversations on the future of faith and hot-button religious subjects.

Share your podcast ideas with the Bible for Normal People production staff.

Potentially be featured on the Bible For Normal People, a podcast with over 18 million downloads.

Take part in monthly Zoom meetings.

Meet Your Cohort Coordinator

Claire Nelson

Claire Nelson is a Bible for Normal People staff member. She works with the GLEAN network, a think tank for religion and spirituality, and Springtide, a research institute that studies the mental health and spirituality of Gen Z. This summer, she’s been working to become a yoga instructor and reading “888 Love and the Divine Burden of Numbers,” a novel by Abraham Chang. One of her favorite artists is Khalid, and she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her many pets (two golden doodles, four cats, and many birds).
